Welcome to Plateau Lodge, we are a family run lodge with a variety of accommodation. We cater for single travellers, families or large groups. Our range of accommodation varies from budget beds to private double/family rooms (with or without a bathroom) or two bedroom apartments. Plateau lodge rooms, include fresh linen, serviced daily, adjustable heating. The apartments are fully equipped with heat pumps, separtae lounge/dining room, full kitchen microwave & dishwasher. On site we have a private hot tub, laundry facilties, WiFI connection, BBQ/Play ground area, drying room and Internet station for Skyping.
Plateau Lodge is located In New Zealand's North Island set in the heart of National Park Village, Plateau Lodge is the starting point for all of your summer and winter activities in the Tongariro National Park. With views of Mt Ruapehu, Mt Tongariro and Mt Ngauruhoe our lanscape of sacred volcanoes is breathtaking. Mt Ruapehu is a haven for New Zealand's largest & most developed ski area, Whakapapa, Turoa & Tukino. In winter National Park boasts spectacular views of all three volcanoes covered in glistening snow. Accommodation, Hire Equipment, Bars, Cafes and Supermarket are all in walking distance, a pefect getaway for a snow holiday.
In Summer we are the closest point to the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing and Mt Ruapehu Crater Climb. We are in the foothills of grade1-4 Mountain Bike trails, like the 42 Traverse, Fishers track, Old Coach Road and Bridge to No where. To tackling our alpine waters flowing from Mt Tongariro try a kayak or candian canoe and paddle down the Whakapapa River or the Whanganui River.
