Mt Ruapehu is home to New Zealand's largest and most developed ski areas, Whakapapa and Turoa Ski Areas. Just 20mins drive to Whakapapa and 55mins to Turoa, Plateau Lodge is placed within arms reach of an exhilarating day on the Slopes.

  

With restaurants, bars, ski school, ski shops, ski hire, beginners to advanced slopes and snow parks, Whakapapa and Turoa Ski Areas boast all of the attributes of a modern ski field accommodating to all skiing and boarding abilities.

To avoid parking headaches, or on road restriction days a bus service runs from National Park Village to Whakapapa Ski Area and back again in the afternoon. Regular buses also run to Whakapapa Ski Area from Whakapapa Village.
